| Brothers and sisters, you are not in darkness. So that day should not surprise you as a thief would. All of you are children of the light. You are children of the day. We don't belong to the night. We don't belong to the darkness. 1 Thessalonians 5:4-5 |
| God’s word tells us that the Day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. All who are not ready and looking for the Lords return will be taken by surprise. But for those who are in the light there will be no surprise! |
| " Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you." ISAIAH 60 |
| In the Parable of the Ten Virgins the story is told by Jesus of a party of virgins given the honor of attending a wedding. Each of the ten virgins is carrying a lamp as they await the coming of the bridegroom. Five are wise and bring a jar of oil. Five are foolish and they took no oil with them. The five wise virgins are seemingly just like all the others. But at the midnight hour they suddenly become the focus of the story. The wise are clearly different from the others because they have taken the time to prepare themselves. Their lights are burning brightly in the midnight darkness and they will meet the Bridegroom at His coming while the foolish virgins are away buying more oil. Then, with glorified spiritual bodies they will be joined with Him. They will come into their spiritual consummation at the Marriage Supper of the Lamb. |
It is my earnest prayer that we will all be prepared for the Day of the Lord and not one of us, our families or friends will be taken by surprise on that glorious day! |
